Preferred business partner program benefits CLEAT members and the POMF

The Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) has always worked to protect the rights of Texas peace officers.  CLEAT has also sought better pay and benefits for officers, either through the legislature or by collective bargaining.  CLEAT's goal has always been to help officers provide for their families.

CLEAT also believes that we have a greater responsibility to their members than just representing them in the workplace. Hence, the familyFIRST concept was born along with the CLEAT "Family of Benefits".  familyFIRST  focuses on benefit plans and programs that help officers protect their families and stretch their hard earned dollars.  CLEAT strives to provide affordable insurance plans through a Benefit Trust and through the Associated Insurance Managers Insurance Agency.  CLEAT provide a line-of-duty death benefit and has a Family Assistance Program to assist families when officers are injured or killed in the line of duty.

And through the preferred business partner program, CLEAT continuously looks for partnerships with businesses who agree to provide members great deals on their products and services. To participate, the  business must also exhibit a strong interest in supporting the Peace Officers' Memorial Foundation (POMF).  In 2003, the program started with a number of automobile dealerships  who partnered with CLEAT and the POMF to provide members "no-hassle" deals on vehicles. 

CLEAT also has a partnership with Sandy Haley and Southwest Funding Mortgage, Ltd., who offers well serviced, low rate mortgage loans to CLEAT members. In addition, La Quinta Hotels  offers members, family, and associates discounted hotel rooms. 

And finally, the Alexander Financial Management offers CLEAT members financial and retirement planning.

CLEAT constantly seeks out services that benefit CLEAT members. "But we are also sensitive to the fact that most people don't appreciate high pressure harassing sales tactics," said CLEAT President Ron DeLord when announcing the preferred partner program.

The POMF continues to receive great support from CLEAT / POMF preferred partners. "And on top of that, the CLEAT members get great prices and service too," DeLord said. "It's what CLEAT is all about, making life better for its members and their families."
