"Our goal
is to meet personally with each CLEAT member and show them how to
make their hard-earned money last a life time so they can provide
adequately for their families," says Steve Alexander of The
Alexander Financial Management.
"Public safety and financial safety should go hand in hand. We’ll
make sure CLEAT members never pay fees; not to us nor to any of
our companies.
We will
never expose their money to risk. Most importantly, we’ll show
each member how to build a strong retirement, protect from
catastrophic losses and stretch retirement assets. Officers risk
their lives to protect us; there’s no need for them to risk their
money."
The
non-profit Association was formed to teach financial advisors how
to make sure retirees didn’t outlive their money. Alexander,
himself a former policeman, quickly recognized the need for AFM’s
services in helping law enforcement community. As a 12-year member
of the Mesquite City Council, Steve has worked closely with the
Mesquite Police Association and strongly supports the ideals of
CLEAT. He approached the board of directors of CLEAT and proposed
an alliance with AFM.
Once the
agreement was approved, Alexander and AFM Executive Director Buddy
Camper immediately hit the road, traveling the state, meeting with
CLEAT Regional Directors and local association presidents to
develop a plan to be available to every interested CLEAT member.
"We’re
trying to meet with retirees first," Alexander says. "We want to
make sure that each retiree knows his options. Many of us know
retirees who, upon retirement, have placed their assets at risk
and lost a large portion of their savings.
That is a
tragedy! None of our clients has ever lost a dime by following our
safe money practices."
Helping
non-retiring officers plan their financial futures is another key
element in the alliance. "Our CLEAT Family Protector Plan enables
members to build retirement assets while providing an instant
estate in case of such emergencies as death, disability,
catastrophic illness or injuries."
AFM
professionals will provide their services free of charge
exclusively to CLEAT members and their families. Additionally, AFM
has pledged financial support to the Police Officers Memorial
Foundation as a result of the new relationship with CLEAT members.
AFM associates include accountants, Certified Estate Planners,
attorneys, insurance specialists, Certified Senior Advisors and
financial planners. All stress "safe money" practices.
Every
CLEAT member who has an interest in financial planning should
contact us. We can’t emphasize enough, however, how important that
may be if you are retiring soon. Just call the AFM at
1-800-896-0455 and take advantage of this new addition to the
CLEAT family of benefits. |
